You've probably heard it said that a man's home is his castle. One particularly rich homebuilder in Daytona Beach heard it a few too many times. Their half-completed handiwork just hit the market for $1.4 million, seeking the help of someone with deep pockets and a few Tolkien first editions.
While the stone castle at 2821 Sauls St. is incomplete, they didn't skimp on the details on the parts they got around to. A archway with guardhouses sits at the end of the driveway and the home itself boasts lookout turrets that can see over the property. All major entryways are topped with tile mosaics of nautical figures. The six-bed, five-bath home comes with a 4-8 car garage, three stories of living space, a workshop and a "dungeon" (read: unfinished space).
The home is the work of Ricky Ginder, a woodworker and cabinetmaker from Port Orange. He's been working on the Medieval mansion for years but is looking to sell -- per the realtor -- because "times change." (Ha!)
The 7,700 square foot home would be well guarded even without the massive arch, as its surrounded by old oak trees. The home is listed by Al Wilson of Adams, Cameron & Co.
