Photos of the people and signs at Tuesday’s downtown Orlando protest
Tuesday afternoon's protests calling for "Justice for George Floyd" kicked off around 3 p.m. yesterday in front of Orlando City Hall with a rally that included guest speakers like Tamika Lyles, president of Osceola County Black Caucus, addressing a crowd that was tightly packed into the plaza in front of City Hall and spilled out onto a closed Orange Avenue. After marching from city hall through downtown neighborhoods, and as the 10 p.m. curfew approached, some chose to stay longer, until Orlando Police officers used tear gas to disperse the remaining people.
Before that happened our photographer caught some of the many faces of passionate, angry protesters and the most unmissable signs.
