K Restaurant's 15th anniversary party on Sunday, April 24, was about as fun a food event as it gets – fine folks, great food (really great food) and a primo reason to celebrate. Chef Kevin Fonzo gathered about a hundred or so guests in K's backyard for a memorable cookout featuring the likes of Kathleen Blake from Rusty Spoon; Greg Richie of Soco Thornton Park and Baoery Asian Gastropub; Jamie McFadden of Cuisiniers Catering; James and Julie Petrakis of the Ravenous Pig and Cask & Larder; Henry and Michelle Salgado of Spanish River Grill; and Austin Boyd of Seito Sushi Baldwin Park. Guests were treated to spectacularly singular dishes including grilled quail, wagyu kebabs, lamb sausages, chicken hearts and littleneck clams, and cocktails courtesy of the Courtesy Bar were liberally poured throughout the course of the afternoon as well. A cookout to end all cookouts? Quite possibly. Congratulations on 15 years, chef Fonzo, and here's to many more.
