Orlando-based ghost tour company Orlando Haunts just purchased the infamous home of Lizzie Borden.

The house in Fall River, Massachusetts was the site of the infamous axe murder of both of Borden's parents in 1892. Though Borden was tried and acquitted of the murders, her name became synonymous with the killings. No one else was ever charged with the murders.

In recent years, the house has been turned into a bed and breakfast. The attraction/hotel attempts to replicate the house as it was on the day of the murders with period furniture and wallpaper. The house went on the market for $2 million last year and was snapped up by Orlando Haunts owner Lance Zaal.

“We look forward to adding the Lizzie Borden house to our growing portfolio of haunted experiences and working with the staff to create new opportunities for guests,” said Zaal. “We have exciting plans for the house that we’ll announce in June. A healthy transition for the staff and preserving the historical site are our top priorities.”

To celebrate the purchase, Orlando Haunts is running a sweepstakes for a free, two-night stay at the home (transportation included). Interested and suitably morbid folks can enter by booking a tour with the promo code "Borden."

In addition to the actual scene of the murders, Borden's home that she lived in after the trial, was also listed recently. It has been sold.
