Derek Jeter is selling his Florida house on Davis Islands, with Tom Brady still renting it

If Derek Jeter gets his way, Tom Brady might be in the market for a new rental.

The Bucs’ new quarterback is the current renter of Jeter’s Davis Islands mansion, which is located at 58 Bahama Circle in Tampa, but the 22,000-square-foot property is on the market for a cool $29 million.

For that price, a buyer gets to own what realtors call the “largest ever assembled waterfront property on Davis Islands,” which includes seven bedrooms, 16 bathrooms, a wine cellar, in-home movie theater, gym, in-law suite and au pair wing, outdoor kitchen and more.

Through a spokesperson, Stephen Gay, who has the listing for Smith & Associates, told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay that Brady and Jeter negotiated favorable terms for them both so that the Jeters could market and list the home.

“Tom's still living there now,” Gay added.

Brady moved into Jeter's crib back in April, and was paying an estimated $44,321 a month, according to the Zillow estimate (though he probably got a better deal).

So far, the house has been a seemingly good fit for TB12. But he did complain to Howard Stern that people were parking their boats outside his house. "I forgot people could drive up to your house," said Brady to Stern. "Here they can pull right up to the back of the house. Derek did a pretty good job of screening it. I am a little bit of an introvert. I feel like my house is my place I can relax. When you are outside the house, you understand everything with being me... in the backyard there's a lot of boats that have pulled up and people at the front."

As of now, it's unclear exactly what Brady and his family would do if the house did sell. At the time, Brady told Stern that he planned on staying at Jeter's "for awhile."

"I had to get here on really short notice," said Brady. "[Jeter’s] been a friend of mine, so we talked and it all worked out. Perfect for me here to get started here."

The listing is being handled by Stephen Gay of Smith & Associates, who spoke to the Tampa Bay Times this week about the quirks of trying to sell a house with a GOAT in it..
