50 intense photos from the die-in in downtown Orlando

On Dec. 10, hundreds of organizers and protesters gathered for a much larger rally against police brutality – particularly in communities of color – than the die-in that was held last week. The group, with the support of the Orlando Police Department, marched all around downtown (even closing down Orange Avenue for a bit, and Hughey Avenue later) carrying sheets of paper with the names of the 168 unarmed people killed by police around the country. When the masses reached the Amway Center where the Orlando Magic were set to play (ironically) the Washington Wizards, they symbolically fell to the ground for more than 15 minutes to honor two of the more recent deaths, Michael Brown and Eric Garner.
