Although the Orange Studio exhibit is over, the Sanford Project continues. This gallery represents a selection of the photos that were taken for The Sanford Project. The project seeks to spotlight Sanford’s humanity and promise, looking beyond its reputation as a city where racial segregation still reverberates.
This group of students and artists feel the culture and character of Sanford has been misinterpreted by the media and work to redress that. Two more exhibits are scheduled: March 28 at the Princess Theater in Sanford and, following that, at the Jeanine Taylor Folk Art Gallery. The Sanford Project will continue their work in Sanford, as well as their blog, while they look for funding to support future endeavors.
