Hurricane season is now upon us and it's worth noting that it has been 10 years since Katrina devastated the Southeastern United States.

Photojournalist Seph Lawless snapped these eerie photos of the abandoned Six Flags amusement park on the outskirts of New Orleans for his book Bizarro, which documents "the world's top ten most hauntingly beautiful abandoned amusement parks."

The park is just now slowly being be cleaned up, and portions of it were even used for the filming of Jurassic World.

With such a large portion of Orlando residents working for local theme parks, these photos are a sobering reminder of how quickly Mother Nature can wipe out even the happiest places on Earth.
