Relief in Abstract 2-Year Anniversary Show

Wednesday, July 10

with XXYYXX, Fortune Howl, Spied on Bikes, Out Go the Lights

9 p.m.

The Social, 54 N. Orange Ave.

Relief in Abstract Records is a cultural gem in Orlando – a true collective, based on friendship, talent and mutual support. To celebrate their two-year anniversary and the success that comes with it (that they seem to still find genuinely and pleasantly shocking), they’re throwing a party at the Social, a venue that has long been revered by locals as downtown’s most serious stage. And things have definitely gotten serious for Relief in Abstract, with artists like XXYYXX reaching a worldwide audience and lifting up the label to international cognizance. It’s a big deal, and you can expect XXYYXX to be on top of the world at the anniversary show, alongside label-mates Fortune Howl and Spies on Bikes. Joining them is Out Go the Lights, an indie Orlando band who’s sorely been missed from the scene in their one-year show hiatus. True to RIA’s ever-uplifting nature, they’re also sharing the spotlight by celebrating lifestyle clothing brand Hari Kari’s first anniversary. – Ashley Belanger
