Activists held a "Families Belong Together" rally on Saturday, June 30, in front of Orlando's City Hall to protest U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Trump administration's immigration policies, specifically a deterrence practice of separating undocumented migrant children from their parents at the border.

About 2,300 migrant children have been taken away from their guardians, and the administration has no apparent plan to reunite these families. President Donald Trump signed an executive order ending the practice of separating immigrant children from their parents – the administration will now detain families together.

The rally was one of many across the country in which hundreds of demonstrators called for abolishing ICE and ending family separations. In downtown Orlando, authorities made one arrest toward the end of the rally when a woman spat at a provocative counter protester wielding a Trump campaign sign.
